ENHANCING OPPORTUNITIES IN SOUTH SUDAN: 2022 TRADE MISSION

Building on the November 2021 HGS trade mission to Juba and the October 2021 meeting in Washington with Her Excellency Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior, HGS is now working to prepare a return trade mission in the spring of 2022.

As part of the 2021 trade mission, HGS participated in a donors’ conference sponsored by Her Excellency’s office. Subsequently, HGS submitted a proposal outlining concepts and considerations for improving the quality of life in South Sudan and assisting the overall economic development of the nation in a manner consistent with environmentally-friendly practices.

“HGS looks forward to enhancing our relationships with the private and public sectors in South Sudan and reaching agreement on the best way to develop the vast natural resources of the country in a sustainable and meaningful way,” says Huffine. “Another initiative under development is adding universities in South Sudan to our growing network of educational partners.” HGS is developing a program for development of young minds and the next generation of leaders in sustainable and renewable resources.

South Sudanese Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Gordon Buay Malek adds, “South Sudan is a nation rich in natural resources with plentiful opportunities for companies across many industries. We look forward to developing these potential opportunities with HGS and U.S. companies.”
